Top 10 Tuesday — Thanksgiving Freebie

25 Nov

Happy Tuesday! This week TTT bloggers are posting about Thanksgiving and thankfulness. I have done a lot of these posts through the year and just couldn’t seem to come up with anything fresh. So . . . I am spelling out THANKGIVING with titles from books I am thankful for. The authors created books that made me smile, laugh out loud, and cry. They made me think and examine and ponder. They entertained and educated. So a big thanks to all on my list!

Honestly, I am just not feeling this topic so I am going in another direction. Shocking, I know. I am going with books that are based on or inspired by classics, ones I have read (denoted with an asterisk) and those that I’d like to. Let me know if you would read any of these. Sorry/not sorry for all the Jane Austen-inpired books.

Top 10 Tuesday — Out of My Comfort Zone

11 Nov

Happy Tuesday! I am an eclectic reader — the only thing I don’t read are spicy books. IYKYK. 😉 It’s easy to read books that fit my parameters when I stick mostly to Christian fiction. So this week’s topic — books out of my comfort zone — was a bit daunting. I do know that I rarely read YA fiction simply because I’m not really the target audience, not because of topic or genre, so I am going to feature a few books that I have read and enjoyed (denoted with an asterisk) and a few that look very interesting. I hope you find one to love!

For more out of the comfort zone lists, head on over to That Artsy Reader Girl.

Top 10 Tuesday — Random Books from The Shelves

4 Nov

Happy Tuesday! Today TTT bloggers are posting random books from our shelves — either physical or digital. Sharing from either is really going to expose my lack of timely reading. 😉 My Kindle, physical shelves, and NetGalley shelf are filled with hopes and dreams — hope that I will finally choose a book and dreams of having all the time in the world to read! Sad for so many reasons. But I will play along anyway. I chose to go the physical book route — have you read any on my list? Tell me which should head to the top of the TBR pile.

Top 10 Tuesday — Atmospheric Reads, Halloween Edition

28 Oct

Happy Tuesday! Today’s TTT topic is a Halloween Freebie. Last week bloggers posted about cozy/atmospheric novels. I chose cozy with a follow-up of atmospheric books today. To fit with the Halloween theme I am defining atmospheric as a book setting that conjures up a feeling of mystery and intrigue, with a little bit (or a lot) of spooky thrown in. It’s always good to have at least one spooky read during October. 😉 I hope you find one that intrigues you.

Top 10 Tuesday — Cozy Reads

21 Oct

Happy Tuesday! This week’s TTT topic is Cozy/Atmospheric reads. When I see those two descriptors I think of very different types of books. Cozy makes me think of small communities, quirky characters, and a feel-good plot, regardless of genre. Atmospheric reads, to me, are ones in which the setting plays a big part of the plot, often setting the stage for spooky goings-on. I am going to focus on cozy books this week, and for next week’s Halloween Freebie, atmospheric novels.

Top 10 Tuesday — Fall TBR

Happy Tuesday! I’m finally back with another TTT post. I don’t have a lot of mandatory reading so this list is fairly loose — books that have caught my eye and I hope to read them in the coming weeks. Let me know which ones you have enjoyed.
