Happy Friday! I few months ago I attended a literary festival. My book-loving heart was thrilled. I attended book discussions galore, heard special speakers, and met a lot of new-to-me authors. One of those was Renee Propes. Renee has a three-part Southern suspense series that I cannot wait to read. duplicity is book 1.
Here’s the first line:
In late July of 2010, Theodore Alexander Williams III sat outside The Medical Center in Abington, Georgia, and wiped his sweaty hands with a handkerchief.
What does a man with a medical degree, a trust fund, a best friend, and a beautiful arm decoration have to fear? And how could Teddy Williams have foreseen the destruction the latter two would cause?
The best friend was closer than a brother, and the arm decoration (his wife) was like an intoxicating drug.
Duplicity: A Story of Deadly Intent takes place in the fictitious southern town of Abington, Georgia. It’s a story about four businessmen, their families, and a land deal. Suspense, crime, and romance. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, grab yourself a glass of sweet tea, and let’s find out if Teddy can save his family before it’s too late.
Renee Propes is a southern suspense writer who resides in Gainesville, Georgia, with her husband, Hardy, and their Yorkshire Terrier, Lucy.
She has written three books in The Abington Series:
Duplicity: A Story of Deadly Intent
Fractured: A Story of Broken Ties
Redemption: A Story of Grace
All three books are set in the fictitious southern town of Abington, Georgia. The stories reveal the heartaches, tragedies, triumphs, and joys of the people in this little town. Each can be read as a standalone story or enjoyed as a trilogy. Regardless of how you prefer to enjoy her books, you will be captivated by the characters she creates and the stories she tells. Her characters could be your next door neighbor, a family member, or your best friend.
Renee’s writing is a cross between Nicholas Sparks, Mary Higgins Clark, Nora Roberts, and a little John Grisham wrapped into one incredible storytelling venue. Suspense, crime, romance, and a sprinkling of inspiration make for an unforgettable story!
Intriguing first line that raises some questions – I’d keep reading. Hope you enjoy it!
I hope you enjoy this one! Have a great weekend!
Happy Friday!
I’m currently reading A Shadow in Moscow by Katherine Reay. It’s a wild ride of a story.
“Ingrid unlocked the apartment’s front door and felt a cold creep up her spine.”
I hope you have an excellent weekend. Happy reading! 😀❤️📚
Today, I was reading Abduction in the Dark by Jenna Night. The first line is: “The knocking at the front door was unexpected.” Have a great week!
