Top 10 Tuesday — Book Wishes

21 Jun

This week’s TTT topic had me a bit stymied. I couldn’t quite get my thoughts together so I put off this post until the last minute. I headed to Finding Wonderland and found Rissi had captured my thoughts perfectly. I was tempted to just type DITTO and be done 😉 , but decided to list some completely random wishes instead. Many of them go hand in hand. Be sure to head over to Rissi’s blog for a more coherent and insightful post. Other bloggers are also sharing at That Artsy Reader Girl. Be sure to wish Jana a happy birthday while there!

Top Random Book Wishes

I wish reading burned more calories. Here’s an article from Livestrong that discusses just that.

I wish I my library through Libby had more audiobooks from CF in general and more of my favorite authors in particular in their catalog.

I wish I could listen to audiobooks in the car without falling asleep. As a passenger, not the driver, I have this problem. 😉

I wish I could stay awake longer while reading in bed. (I’m sensing a trend.)

I wish I could be less distracted by social media and read more.

I wish I had more self control in bookstores.

I wish I would read more from my shelves.

I wish I could read books in the pool.

I wish my friends’ eyes wouldn’t glass over when I’m talking about books.

I wish there were official book reading holidays.

I am currently reading an advanced copy of Deadly Shallows by Dani Pettrey. It’s really good. Wish I was reading it now!

A deadly attack.
A stolen weapon capable of immense destruction.
A painful secret that threatens to tear two hearts apart.

CGIS Agent Noah Rowley is rocked to the core when several of his valued team members come under fire on his Coast Guard base. He and his remaining team race to the scene and end the attack, but not before innocent lives are lost. Furious and grief-stricken, he vows to do whatever is needed to bring the mastermind behind the attack to justice.

Stunned by the ambush, Coast Guard flight medic Brooke Kesler evacuates in a helicopter carrying the only surviving gunman. The gravely wounded man whispers mysterious information to Brooke that immediately paints a target on her back.

As Brooke and Noah race to uncover answers, emotions between them ignite. Noah struggles to protect Brooke at all costs and to conceal the secret that prevents him from becoming what he longs to be–the right man for her.

Everything is at stake as a horrifying truth emerges. . . .

The attack wasn’t the end game. It was only the beginning.

This is such a great list of bookish wishes. I especially love your first one. I mean reading does burn calories just not enough. I wish it were more in the range of what exercising would do for you.

Great list, Beckie! I did a reading challenge this year so I WOULD read more books from my bookshelves! Otherwise I knew I wouldn’t.

Great twist on this top ten, Beckie. I can’t agree more with all these wishes.

This post is SO MUCH fun, Beckie! First I’m glad that I could be a tiny bit of inspo for this and second, thanks for the mention. FEEL that wish on reading more from my shelf (or at this point, just reading ANYTHING) and also social media. I have pretty strong opinions about social media and yet I waste too much time there. 😉

      Me too Rissi. Me too!
