Happy Friday! Today’s first line is another from my TBR shelves — Dry As Rain by Gina Holmes. The opening sentence made me chuckle and the cover blurb is very intriguing. Why haven’t I read this yet?! Have you? I’d love a reason to move this one to the top of the pile.
Here’s the first line:
When I first became a Christian, I read what Adam and Eve had done in the Garden of Eden and it really ticked me off.
From the bestselling author of Crossing Oceans comes a powerfully moving story that tests the limits of love’s forgiveness. Like many marriages, Eric and Kyra Yoshida’s has fallen apart slowly, one lost dream and misunderstanding at a time, until the ultimate betrayal finally pushes them beyond reconciliation. Just when it looks like forgive and forget is no longer an option, a car accident gives Eric the second chance of a lifetime. A concussion causes his wife to forget details of her life, including the chasm between them. No one knows when ― or if ― Kyra’s memory will return, but Eric seizes the opportunity to win back the woman he’s never stopped loving.
Gina Holmes is the founder of popular literary site, Novel Rocket and the author of award-winning novels: Crossing Oceans, Dry as Rain, Wings of Glass, and Driftwood Tides. On my blog this week, I’m sharing the first line from A Dazzle of Diamonds by Liz Johnson:
“Penelope Jean Hunter loved every wedding she’d ever been to. Except her own.”
I hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂
My first line is a long one from Chapter two of Vying for The Viscount by Kristi Hunter:
Suffolk was as beautiful as his father had claimed, and the estate and stables were even grander than his grandfather had described in his letters, but no one had warned Hudson that the area was inhabited by crazed women.
Happy Friday!
I’m currently reading The Crushing Depths by Dani Pettrey. I’m on chapter 41, so I’ll share from there.
“When Logan left to meet Bella Armstrong at a coffee shop and Emmy was engrossed in searching for answers on Rick Carson, Noah grabbed the folder Austin Kelly had given them and tucked it under his arm.”
Hope you have a relaxing weekend! 🙂❤📚
Happy Friday!!
