The folks at The Broke And The Bookish have charged bloggers with a hard task this week — pick 10 Best Books of 2017. Even though 2017 is just 6 month old, this has a been a great year of books for me and picking just 10 was a challenge. So of course, I narrowed the list to an even dozen! Six historical and six contemporary (post-1960) gems filled with wonderful characters, beautiful writing, and themes of grace, mercy and faith. I am sure you will love these books too. What are some of your fav reads from 2017?
Yay for The Road to Paradise, The Wood’s Edge, and True to You!!! I’ve read them and have to agree, all are fabulous!
I really, really need to read Long Way Gone by Charles Martin. AND, The Mountain Between Us by him — it’s going to be a big-screen movie this fall! Have you read it?
I decided I couldn’t possibly pick my favorites at this point, so I think I’ll wait for a year end 2017 best-of post. The most recent book I’ve read that will definitely make my list is Jane of Austin by Hillary Manton Lodge. It’s delightful!
I have read The Mountain Between Us — so,so good! I hope the movie is good. Crossing my fingers! I am way behind on reading Lodge’s books. I’ve heard good things about that one.
I’m glad to hear you liked it! I have a copy and am determined to read it before I watch the movie.
I’m very behind on some authors, too! That’s the best problem, haha!
I’m starting Dressed for Death by Julianna Deering tonight. It’s book 4 in the series. Book six comes out this fall! 😬
I like how you broke it down into categories. I wish I would have done that. Great list!
Thanks! 😀
I have Lori Benton’s and Cynthia Ruchti’s on my shelf of TBRs. My favorites so far are books by Roseanna White, Kristi Ann Hunter and Jody Hedlund. Then we can throw in Drew Farthering Mysteries, and ones ny Ann Gabhart and Sarah Sundin! And don’t forget Tamera Alexander. Thanks
Great books! I just finished Jody Hedlund’s latest. It will be on the next best of 2017 list.
