Unfortunately, I don’t have unlimited time to sit and read. 😉 Household chores, work demands and life in general get in the way of reading time. So it is not unusual for me to come across a book that deserves another look; I just don’t know when I will get around to reading it. Precious in His Sight by Karen Pashley is one of those books. Here’s a bit of information for you. If you have read it, let me know why I need to move it up to the top of the TBR pile!
A determined wife, her guilt-ridden husband, and the other woman, whose struggle may set them all free . . .
In Westfield, South Carolina, where wealth and prestige go hand-in-hand with sippin’ sweet tea and servin’ Jesus, successful architect Clay Brennan and his adoring wife Sugar enjoy the American dream.
When strong-willed Sugar learns of her husband s unfaithfulness, she keeps it to herself. Exposing his secret would destroy their kids respect and ruin their spotless reputations in their church and community.
Though her heart is crushed, she longs to repair the damage. But trusting God to heal her wounds proves more difficult than she’d imagined.
And when Clay’s former mistress returns to Westfield with devastating news, it poses a heart-wrenching dilemma that challenges Sugar to rethink all she s believed about faith, family, and the healing power of forgiveness.

Precious in His Sight is worth the read! It was the type of character development that kept running through my mind throughout the day and I couldn’t wait to sit back down and delve into the story! The redemption piece is quite powerful, and it left me questioning whether my own faith would enable me to be like Sugar. It’s a story that engages the heart and also brings the gospel story of grace to life. You won’t be disappointed!!
Thanks so much for sharing your about your reading experience! That’s exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanks for stopping by.
This is a book that you won’t be able to put down. It’s more than just a good read. The story is powerful and more captivating with each turn of the page! The characters are so real and relatable, and through the story you find yourself growing right alongside them.
Sounds like a winner. Thanks for sharing your thought!
I just finished reading “Precious in His Sight”. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. It’s definitely a page turner as each of the character’s stories are developed. As I read, I kept thinking how I would react to this situation. Themes of redemption and forgiveness prevail. It’s worth taking a break to read it!
Thanks for your thoughts!
I challenge you to just read the first chapter of “Precious In His Sight” and put it back in your reading lineup. You won’t be able to! Karen hooked this non-reader! This book is a page turner! The characters and the story are real, riviting and refreshing. I hope this is the first of many more to come from Karen Pashley!
So glad to hear the many praises for this book. Thanks for commenting.
Precious in His Sight had me hooked from the beginning! A variety of emotions were felt through their story. I could put myself in several of the characters place, wondering how I would handle their situation. I’m ready for the next book, and I could actually see this played out as a movie.
Thanks for stopping by and letting us know how you liked this book!
I haven’t read the book, but it appears it is liked. I wanted to commend you for admitting that you did not have the time to read the book right now. I often struggle to get books read by deadlines, yet I still want to read them. I supposed to be retired but I still make too many plans and select too many books. When I have to finish something for a deadline, my enjoyment meter takes an automatic dive. I started a similar post a few minutes ago, but I don’t think it went through, so I am posting again. If it did go through, I apologize for the duplication.
Sue, I know what you mean about deadlines and reading enjoyment. I have gotten so used to reading for a review that it’s hard to turn off and just lose myself in a book. This particular book showed up “unannounced” — not a book I requested. It seemed intriguing and I hated to just stick it on a shelf. For those types of books I am enlisting my friends to do some mini-reviews for the blog. Hope you have a blessed Easter.
I, too, have already read Precious in His Sight and can echo your other commenters. 🙂 I felt like I became friends with the characters and was pulling for all of them. This is really an unbelievable book from a first-time author.
I have gotten a big response from this post! I’ll have to keep this one on my TBR shelf. Thanks so much for commenting.
Since I have had the privilege of having read “Precious in His Sight”, I can highly recommend this book! I am the type of reader that needs a book that grabs my interest right away or forget it. Precious In His Sight, by Karen Pashley, was definitely a book that grabbed my interest! The moment I received it, I thought I would just read a couple of pages and see what it was all about; before I knew it, I had read the first four chapters! The writer drew me into the characters’ lives and I found myself being moved by them and how they handled the struggles they faced, each in their own way. Throughout the book, I was provoked to consider how I would respond if I were faced with the struggles each of these characters faced. This was one of those books that you just don’t want to put down. I have no doubt that readers will love this book and, like me, be asking this author to please “write more”!
Thanks so much for your enthusiastic endorsement! Looking forward to reading it. Thanks for stopping by!
