Thanks to The Broke And The Bookish for hosting Top Ten Tuesday. This week is a free Halloween theme. Make sure to check out the spooky, scary, creepy-crawly posts by all the bloggers HERE.
There are those who would never read spooky fiction, while others argue that who is better to deal with the clash of good and evil with all its supernatural components than a Christian author? So for the Halloween Top Ten Tuesday I am listing Christian authors who deal in the spooky, the creepy, the chill-inducing side of life. The list includes psychological thrillers, suspense, even a little romance! You’ll see appearances from witches, vampires, demons, angels and a werewolf or two! My list includes only the books (and links to reviews) I have read by each author, but there are plenty more where they came from, so make sure to check out the authors’ pages as well. When coming up with the list, I deliberately left out Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker because they are so well-known. So here are authors in the genre you may not know.

Thirty years ago that’s exactly what Reece Roth did. Until tragedy shattered his life and ripped away his future.
Now God has drawn Reece out of the shadows to fulfill a prophecy spoken over him three decades ago. A prophecy about four warriors with the potential to change the world . . . if Reece will face his deepest regret and teach them what he has learned.
They gather at a secluded and mysterious ranch deep in the mountains of Colorado, where they will learn to see the spiritual world around them with stunning clarity—and how to step into the supernatural.
Their training is only the beginning. The four have a destiny to pursue a freedom even Reece doesn’t fully fathom. But they have an enemy hell-bent on destroying them and he’ll stop at nothing to keep them from their quest for true freedom and the coming battle of souls.
But their leader Reece is struggling with the loss of his sight. Brandon is being stalked at his concerts by a man in the shadows. Dana’s career is threatening to bury her. And Marcus questions his sanity as he seems to be slipping in and out of alternate realities.
And now the second part of the prophecy has come true. The Wolf is hunting them and has set his trap. He circles, feeding on his supernatural hate of all they stand for. And he won’t stop until he brings utter destruction to their bodies . . . and their souls.

Matt Mikalatos
Like many future world leaders, Matt celebrated his college graduation by beginning a career as a clerk at a comic book store. Having discovered that such work caused women to shun him, Matt took control of a high school classroom and taught American Literature and Drama (although he was best known for his riotous “study halls”). Then Matt defied all expectations by joining staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, soon after marrying his best friend, Krista.
After two years ministering in Seattle, he and Krista moved overseas for three years, working with college students and the underground church in Asia. For the last five years, Matt has given regional leadership to the Worldwide Student Network, Campus Crusade for Christ’s international sending ministry. Matt’s ministry has taken him to places as diverse as Costa Rica, South Korea, Spain, Croatia, Mexico, Thailand, Hungary and closed countries in the Middle East and Asia.
Matt is also the author of My Imaginary Jesus. He loves speaking about intimacy with Christ, what it means to be a true disciple, world missions, evangelism, the gospel and the great commission. Matt is passionate about presenting the scriptures in a way that is compelling and accurate as well as accessible. He is a popular speaker in Campus Crusade for Christ, well known for his hilarious stories illustrating the deep truths about our relationship with God.
Matt, his wife and three children live near Portland, Oregon, where Matt can blend into regular society.
