Today is not only Valentine’s Day, but International Book Giving Day! To celebrate, I am giving away a hardback copy of Kristin Hannah’s Home Front. This is a one day giveaway, so leave me a comment to enter to win.
Like many couples, Michael and Jolene have to face the pressures of everyday life—children, careers, bills, chores—even as their twelve year marriage is falling apart. Then an unexpected deployment sends Jolene deep into harm’s way and leaves defense attorney Michael at home, unaccustomed to being a single parent to their two girls. As a mother, it agonizes Jolene to leave her family, but as a soldier she has always understood the true meaning of duty. In her letters home, she paints a rose-colored version of her life on the front lines, shielding her family from the truth. But war will change Jolene in ways that none of them could have foreseen. When tragedy strikes, Michael must face his darkest fear and fight a battle of his own–for everything that matters to his family.

Recently, as a result of your book reviews, I’ve been reading Christian fiction by Sarah Sundin about the wartime relationships of three brothers in World War II and would love to read Kristin Hannah’s book Home Front as well. For Valentine’s Day I’m giving my husband two books written by a friend of ours who has moved away and been writing historical fiction in his retirement years–Brian Utermahlen. Since the friend graduated from West Point and fought in the Vietnam War, he has a great deal of first-hand knowledge and has been doing a lot of research as well. This series of three books [He’s currently writing the third book.] is about three generations from the same family fighting in three different wars. Your reviews have been instrumental in exposing me to many new and fine Christian authors and books. Thanks so much!
Thanks, Susie, for your encouraging words. It’s nice to know my thoughts are actually read by real people! I really like Sarah Sundin’s novels. I read the first book in her latest series too. It was great and a great reminder of the Greatest Generation — their patriotism and sacrifice.
I love Kristin Hannah’s books. This one sounds really good. Please enter me. Thanks!
Sounds like an interesting book. I like the swap between typical roles. I have two inlaw relatives who are both the stay-at-home dads (one is working part time now that his kids are both in school). It’s becoming more common and that is awesome.
Thanks for the chance to win.
I have yet to read one of Hannah’s books. They all sound so good and I love the covers.
Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
