It has been a very busy week around here. My youngest graduates from high school next week, so I have had a lot to do with all the festivities surrounding the event. But I need some down time, so I am going to spend it hopping around. Join me in the Friday Hop, the weekly meme that asks the book questions we are all eager to answer.
This week’s Hop question is:
“If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?”
I have a really cheesy answer, but it really is true — I would want to be in the land of Pride and Prejudice. I love, love, love Elizabeth and Darcy’s story. (Do I get to be Elizabeth!?) And the time frame is one I would love to visit.
Amanda Price got to do it in Lost in Austen, why not me?

I picked Pride and Prejudice too! To get to dance with Mr. Darcy at a ball, that would be the perfect day.
Lost in Austen sounds great! I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it. I love all things Jane Austen!

I don’t have a follower button (wordpress you know 😉 ). You can subscribe though — see widget on sidebar.
Lost in Austen is a great miniseries out of England. You can get the whole thing on one DVD here in US. Check out the link to my review.
ok, I’m looking for the “follow” link and don’t see it. where is it hidden?
Now this is a refreshing answer. So many others chose Hogwarts that I was beginning to think my blogosphere companions were wannabe wizards. Nice to see we have some with the soul of 19th century folks amongst us too.
I am probably the only blogger that has not read any Harry Potter and no desire to either! I like fantasy, but I get my fix from those like Tolkein or C S Lewis. P&P is a nice calm world, there is drama, but no worries with getting attacked by dragons, turned into a frog or becoming the meal of some ogre.
Thanks for stopping by.
Yay for P&P! And I’m glad you’re reading Words right now, I really enjoyed that book. 🙂 Let me know what you think of it!
Good choice.

i love your background and the header goes well. I too love that era of pride and prejudice. happy reading. oh stop by having a book giveaway, do not have to be a follower. just click the blog tour buttons
Thanks, my name is hidden in the book titles!
I’ve seen a lot of great picks and gathered some fresh titles to add to my ever-growing TBR list. My answer will probably stun most people because the world I picked is a place most people would be scared to death of and try to escape from. Me? I want in.

That would be a really great time period….good choice.
Stopping by from the Blog Hop.
I would want to be in Louise Penny’s fictional city of Three Pines.
Stop by my blog if you like.

I love Pride and Prejudice but I’m thinking more of a futuristic scenario for myself. Here’s mine: http://renthompsonishere.blogspot.com/2011/05/im-blog-hoppin-today.html
