Friday Book Blogger Hop

Happy Birthday to Jennifer at Crazy for Books the host of The Book Blogger Hop!

question of the week:

Summer is coming quickly – what 2011 summer release are you are most looking forward to?

Two books I am looking forward to are from favorite authors:

The  Fine Art of Insincerity.  Three grown Southern sisters have nine marriages between them-and more loom on the horizon-when Ginger, the eldest, wonders if she’s the only one who hasn’t inherited what their family calls “the Grandma Gene”: the tendency to like the casualness of courtship better than the intimacy of marriage. Could it be that her two sisters are fated to serially marry, just like their seven-times wed grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Irene Harper Winslow Goldstein Carey James Bobrinski Gordon George? It takes a “girls only” weekend, closing up Grandma’s treasured beach house for the last time, for the sisters to really unpack their family baggage, examine their relationship DNA, and discover the true legacy their much-marrying grandmother left behind . . .

I will be reviewing this Angela Hunt’s book on June 1st.

Another book is from Robert Whitlow, a favorite author of my book club.

Water’s Edge.  Sometimes the smallest towns hold the biggest secrets.

Ambitious young attorney Tom Crane is about to become a partner in a big-city law firm. One final matter has to be cleared from his docket–the closing of his deceased father’s law practice in the small town of Bethel. Killed in a tragic boating accident, John Crane didn’t leave his son anything except the hassle of a bankrupt estate.

Then, within twenty-four hours, Tom loses his job, his girlfriend, and his cat. Job didn’t have it much worse.

Returning to Bethel with his pride ground to powder, Tom’s plan to quietly shut down his father’s practice and slink out of town runs into an unexpected roadblock – two million dollars of unclaimed money stashed in a secret bank account. Tom follows the money into a tangled web of lies, theft, and off-shore financial transactions manipulated by powerful men who will do anything to stop him from discovering the truth.

And then there is a book by a new to me author —  My Name Is Still Brother Billy Bob Bohannon by Bill W. King.

My Name Is Still Brother Billy Bob Bohannon.  Brother Billy Bob Bohannon isn’t your regular type of guy. With his signature Southern, down-home charm, he’ll entertain you with his folksy tales of life with his comical family (including a mama nobody messes with and ditto for his wife, Thelma Lou Jean), his assortment of quirky friends, and his collection of “tell-alls” as a pastor-in-the-trenches.

So step on in to the fun. Laugh a lot. Fall in love with Bird Bump, Alabama. And don’t be surprised if Bro Billy Bob sneaks in a lesson or two along the way.

    Good Morning!

Water’s Edge looks good. It would be great if Kindle made it free for awhile. I have just started Divine by Karen Kingsbury. It will be the first of her books that I have read.

    Hopping by!!
