It’s the weekend, so it is time for Crazy for Book’s Book Blog Hop!
This week’s question:
“Pick a character from a book you are currently reading or have just finished and tell us about him/her.”
Meet Helen from The Face of God by Bill Myers:
Helen is a Jewish American archaeologist in her mid-thirties working on a dig in Jerusalem. She was molested by an uncle at the age of 8 and her orthodox parents blamed her for the abuse! She has learned to use her looks to manipulate men most of her life. When she gets anxious or nervous she tries to appear in control but busts out in a case of the clumsies. She cold-cocks a potential backer, she hits her head repeatedly on the overhead compartment in a plane, she rips the back of her blouse off. This was a very serious and suspenseful book and Helen brought a lightness when needed.
