Have you added a lot of books to your TBR so far this year? My answer is, of course! While I have a seemingly unending reading list, I never shy away from adding just one, or two, or more books. Today TTT tasked bloggers with revealing the latest books that they have added to their shelves. I have focused specifically on my NetGalley shelf, since many of the books have not yet released. I hope my list piques your interest.
Happy Tuesday everyone! Today the bloggers of TTT are sharing their goals for 2025. My husband retires in 4 days, so any reading goals I may have entertained will be replaced by assisting in the projects he has planned for the coming months, upcoming trips, and general hanging out time. He will start doing a little relief work (he’s a veterinarian) in March, but only a few days on selected weeks. That will be the time I slip in all day reading. 😉
But in the meantime I do have a few bookish goals, though nothing taxing or restricting. I plan on, again, reading what I want to read, scaling back book tour obligations, resting up from the Book Festival I have been working on for the past year, and a new activity — crocheting a book blanket as a reminder of all the fabulous books I will read in 2025.
Here are some pictures of granny squares and books so far in 2025.They will be joined together to form an eclectic (like my reading choices) reminder of the year’s reading.
Happy New Year! With a new year comes new books. Yay! Actually new books release all the time, but it’s still good to celebrate whenever they arrive. This week’s TTT is most anticipated books of the first half of 2025. It really was hard to whittle the list down, so I just went with the first 1/3 of the year instead of half. 😉
Do you have any books that you are REALLY looking forward to?
Happy Christmas Eve! While there is really zero shopping time left, Santa’s magic could still bring you your bookish wishes under the tree tomorrow morning. And when I say Santa’s magic, I mean the incredible digital books and gift cards that can be delivered instantly. 😉 Santa (and my family) rarely grant my book wishes. It’s not because they don’t care about me, it’s because they honestly think I have all the books I need! I have been unsuccessful in changing their minds. LOL! They have, on occasion, given me Amazon gift cards, so that’s kind of the same. And my husband has been giving me Kindles since the first one was available — he feeds my addiction nicely.
Today, TTT has tasked us with listing books on our Christmas wishlists. The books I am featuring are new for the upcoming year, so those gift cards can really come in handy for pre-orders.
Happy Tuesday! I am officially in read-whatever-strikes-my-fancy mode until the end of the year. Almost 3 weeks of pleasure reading! I plan to catch up on the old TBR (you’ll see a lot of romantic suspense represented). So with that in mind, my Winter TBR list includes a bunch of oldies and some book club books.
Happy Tuesday! Today’s TTT topic is books to read in a storm. Because I live in the mostly sunny South, most of our storms do not include time to snuggle in and read. 😉 Hurricanes and tornadoes are the storms we face most often. I have only experienced two snowstorms in my life, each with a great deal of record setting snowfall. Those were times when a good book was definitely called for. So my list today features books in which a storm plays a part in the storyline. Interestingly, many are hurricanes. I guess I can’t get away from my roots! And for a fun twist, one of the authors name is Storm! I hope you find one to love.
Happy Tuesday! With Thanksgiving upon us, it is time to think about bookish blessings. Yes, books are a blessing as they enlarge our world, inspire hope and empathy, and teach us new and exciting things. I have loved books since I was a tiny child, relishing those precious gifts given for my birthdays and Christmas. I have never been without a book, though there have been times in my life when I read less (days with 3 children under three to be specific). But I have always come back to my beloved hobby. Almost two weeks ago I had the joy of attending a celebration of Christian Fiction at the Christy Awards Gala and connecting with new and old friends, readers and authors alike, at the Reading Rendezvous. What fun we had discovering new books/authors and talking about our favorites. Today I am listing things that came from my experiences there. There are some books sprinkled in as well (I can’t have a TTT post without mentioning a few by name 😉 ).
Connecting with authors. I was so blessed to reconnect with author friends, finally meet in person authors that I have known for years through the wonders of the internet, and to meet for the very first time authors I admire. I have only a few pictures though. I had some chance encounters on elevators, and asking for a picture there kind of borders on stalking. 😉 Especially since two of the authors I met, Steven James and NancyMehl, know a lot about that kind of thing!
Here are books by these authors you really need to check out!
Books as gifts. I love getting books, and I was giftedan outstanding novel at the Christy Award Gala .The Christy Awards made sure that all attendees went home with a book. Nominees’ books were on each table, and I just happened to get Indigo Isle by T. I. Lowe. Not only did it win the Christy Award for Contemporary Romance, but also Book of The Year! An added bonus is that its author, T. I. Lowe, will be at the Turning a New Page Book Festival in Perry, Georgia in January.
I was gifted several more books at the Reading Rendevouz. So excited to read these new books!
Bookish traveling buddies. My friend Ruth is a great travel buddy. First, she is already an intrepid traveler since her daughter’s family lives in England, but she is up for just about anything. And I don’t think she has ever met a stranger 😉 . And she is an avid reader too! She introduced me to author Robin W. Pearson at the Reading Rendezvouz! So grateful for new friends!
Well, those are just a few of the bookish blessings I am thankful for.
Happy Tuesday! Today is confession day — oldestbooks that are in my TBR pile, which means I have been jumping them for other books. For years. I am a bit ashamed of this because these books are so worthy to be read. Perhaps this confessional will give me the boost to move them up to the top. I’d like to know if you have read any of the books on my list. Please let me know why I should read them too.
Happy Tuesday! Today’s TTT prompt is Destination Titles (books with the names of places in their titles). I didn’t anticipate how quickly I could come up with 10 books! My list includes books with cities in the title. The cover art reps the cities as well. Take a close look at A Shadow in Moscow‘s cover! I have a variety of genres and time periods represented — I hope you find one to love!
Happy Tuesday! I have to admit I was a bit daunted by the TTT prompt — Cover Freebie. I just couldn’t decide which direction to go — Christmas-y Covers, Autumn Vibes, Illustrated Covers — there are just so many choices. So I decided to really reach and go with fashion through the years. I chose these covers because so many different styles of clothing and hairstyles are represented. I think the cover designers did a great job of representing the era in which the books are set. What do you think?
